The AICE (Italian Association for Total Cost Management), member of the ICEC and of the FAST, is in charge to organise the ICEC World Congress in Milano, from 20^th to 22^nd of October, 2014.

The core topic of the congress will be relevant to the competencies in total cost management as well as in related professions, such as planning, scheduling and project controls, cost engineering, value analysis, life cycle cost management, contract and claim management, forensic engineering.

This matter is strictly related to the changes in the profession in the whole world, and in detail in all countries where the ICEC is represented, mainly in Europe. The aim is to define the peculiarities of our profession as well as its relation with connected professions such as Project Management. Furthermore, through the comparison of the bodies of knowledge of the various associations, it will be possible to obtain a common body of knowledge for the ICEC as a whole.

We also would like to have a better definition on how our profession can contribute to the business in a sustainable way; other research paths can be certification, standard and good practices, methodologies.
